| Beware of computer scam. Just clicked on a link regarding a false claim that Professor Stephen Hawking had died. The screen froze and a warning was given that my computer was infected with a virus. The only way to get into my laptop was to shut down and restart. All is now fine. The warning was to phone 0800 086 9834 to speak to an engineer from Windows (lies). When I phoned the number the engineer wanted to take control of my computer and would have wanted a huge fee to put it right. When I told him the computer was now fine he slammed the phone down. If you google 0800 086 9834 you will see posts from many others who were given a fright. |
